Third Sunday of Advent, 2019

Sermon Given by Father Pancras Raja on December 15, 2019

Faith in the divinity of Christ is the foundation of our religion and of our salvation. But the divinity and kingship of Jesus Christ has been much denied in our days – not only the Muslims and heretics, but also by the children of the Catholic Church, because of the failure of the priests and bishops (like those pharisees and high priests) have failed to bear testimony to the divinity of Christ as did St. John the Baptist. (Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer)

The radical reason for this deplorable failure is the fatal refusal of the modern Church to recognize Christ as he actually came to be for us “the only way to salvation!” The only absolute truth, and the only source and support of divine and everlasting life!

If God is one, and the way to God is only one, can there be any other true religion except the one founded by the Son of God? Jesus Christ founded only one Church – not many kinds of churches. Only the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church is the way to salvation! Not any church. “Nulla salus extra Ecclesiam.” There is no salvation outside the Roman Catholic Church.

This truth has been now denied by the conciliar church – which is an error of modernism. As the Jewish high priests refused to recognize and accept the divinity of Jesus Christ at the time of John the Baptist, the modernist hierarchy of the Church – in the documents of the Second Vatican Council has denied the unique way of salvation through the sacraments of the Catholic Church. Thus, the Conciliar Church clearly teaches the heresy that religions other than Catholic also have means of salvation!

The Decree on Ecumenism “Unitatis Redintegratio = Restoration of Unity” Chapter I, Catholic principles on ecumenism No. 3 says: “It follows that these separated churches and communities as such, though we believe them to be deficient in some respects, have by no means been deprived of significance and importance in the mystery of salvation. For the Spirit of Christ has not refrained from using them as means of salvation whose efficacy comes from that fullness of grace and truth which has been entrusted to the Catholic Church.”

It is this error which opened first the way for the meeting of all religious leaders for the “world prayer of peace at Assisi,” convoked by the Pope himself! We cannot share our prayers with those who do not recognize Our Lord Jesus Christ as Son of God; and chiefly with those who formally reject Jesus Christ, for example, the Muslims and Jews!

Such an inter-religious prayer gathering is a transgression of the first commandment! That is why a similar such gathering had been already banned by Pope Leo XIII at the close of nineteenth century!

Yes, we need real priests like St. John the Baptist (like Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer) to come out firmly to condemn these errors and lead the faithful people in the only true way to heaven. We need many voices crying now in the wilderness and make straight the way of the Lord.

What is the remedy? We must Listen to the voice crying in the wilderness!

Do we clearly distinguish that Voice of God and His grace – from the world, the devil sand the flesh? Do we listen to the voice of God Who, stretches out His Arms to us in loving appeal?
“Be separated, come out My chosen people” (Num. 16:21), come away from among this congregation. Beware of following their counsels, of sitting in their company, or even lingering on the road they take. Hasten away from the infamous Babylon.

Let us be decided to follow Jesus Christ – our model, who alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life?
