Upcoming Ignatian Retreats
Dear Faithful,
At the behest of multiple requests of the retreatants and those interested in making an Ignatian Retreat below is a brief explanation of what a Silent Ignatian retreat is:
One of the main apostolates of the SSPX is to teach the Spiritual Exercises given to us by St. Ignatius through this retreat.
A silent Ignatian retreat is 5 days of conferences, prayers, and consultations with the priests in which one leaves the noises of the world to enter into silent contemplation with God. The objective is to apply the Gospel to the modern world.
The retreatant will have the opportunity to make a life-long General Confession. He is also given tools through conferences and consultation to overcome faults and increase in virtue while meditating upon the essentials of spiritual combat to grow in the knowledge and love of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the end of the retreat the retreatant can receive a plenary indulgence (that is a full remission of punishment due to sin) by receiving the priests’ blessing on the Saturday (last day) of the retreat.
Anyone ages 18 and older may make a retreat who wishes to deepen or renew their supernatural life and those who have big steps to make in life (marriage, career changes etc…) are highly encouraged to prepare for such steps by this retreat.
For any further inquiries or to arrange plans for a retreat please contact Father Adam Chenal at 715-566-3010.
In the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Father Adam Chenal.
