The Rosary

"Love is never monotonous in the uniformity of its expression. The mind is infinitely variable in its language, but the heart is not. The heart of a man, in the face of the woman he loves, is too poor to translate the infinity of his affection into a different word. So the heart takes one expression, "I love you," and in saying it over and over again, it never repeats. It is the only real news in the universe. That is what we do when we say the Rosary, we are saying to God, the Trinity, to the Incarnate Savior, to the Blessed Mother: "I love you, I love you, I love you." Each time it means something different because, at each decade, our mind is moving to a new demonstration of the Savior's love.” Archbishop Fulton Sheen (Praying the Rosary)

Our Lady of the Rosary

The Holy Rosary: A Plea for Prayers

The Holy Rosary is one of the greatest prayers a Catholic can pray. In it, we meditate on the life, death, and Glories of Our Lord in union with Our Lady.  The Joyful Mysteries, following Christ’s life with the Holy Family and His Childhood; The Annunciation, The Visitation, The Nativity of Our Lord, The Presentation in the Temple, The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple. The Sorrowful Mysteries, following the Passion of Our Lord; The Agony in the Garden, The Scourging at the Pillar, The Crowning of Thorns, The Carrying of the Cross, The Crucifixion and Death of Christ. The Glorious Mysteries, The Resurrection, The Ascension of Our lord into Heaven, The Decent of the Holy Ghost on the Twelve Apostles and Mary, The Assumption of Mary into Heaven, The Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth. Not only in each mystery are these Truths presented but also in every prayer. The Our Father given to us by Christ, The Hail Mary taken from the words of the Gospel, The Glory Be the Church’s prayer of praise, and the Fatima Prayer given by Our Lady to the children of Fatima when she asked them to pray the rosary daily.

Now, more than ever, we need the help of Our Mother in heaven. To intercede for us in our daily life, to ask God pardon for our sins and the sins of the world, to beg for the Pope to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and through this bring peace to the world. If there is nothing more we can do in our daily life, for the Glory of God, and the Salvation of Souls, we can at least pray the Rosary. May be all fifteen decades, may be five, may be only one. And if we cannot even do this, at the very least remember her in three Hail Marys before bed. So that when we die and are before the Judgement of Our Lord Jesus Christ, she will remember us, her children, and our love for her.

”Keep your eye on Heaven as the end and goal of life. There is even a place in purgatory for those who have not desired heaven enough. And if you want Heaven you must love Christ with the most perfect Heart. But only Mary can love Christ with such a heart. But no one can love Mary with a right heart except her Divine Son. Therefore, ask Mary to give you her Heart with which to love her Son and ask her Divine Son to give you His Heart with which to love His Mother and between these two hearts you will find Heaven.”-Father Urban Snyder

The Prayers of the Rosary

The Apostles Creed

Crédo in Spíritum Sánctum, sánctam Ecclésiam Cathólicam, Sanctórum communiónem, remissiónem peccatórum, cárnis resurrectiónem, vítam ætérnam. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Sáncta María, Máter Déi, óra pro nóbis peccatóribus, nunc et in hóra mórtis nóstræ. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen.

The Glory Be

Latin/English

The Fatima Prayer

Latin/English

O Jésu mi, ignósce nóbis, libera nos ab ígne inférni, ad caélum tráhe ómnes ánimas, praesáertim máxime indigéntes.

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of Hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.

The Hail, Holy Queen

Latin/English

Hail holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our
sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor
banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up
our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of
tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine
eyes of mercy toward us. And after this our exile
show unto us the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Amen.

V- Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God
R- That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray. O God, who’s only begotten Son,
by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased
for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech
Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the
Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we
may imitate what they contain and obtain what
they promise, through the same Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

Salve, Regina, mater misericordiae: vita, dulcedo,
et spes nostra, salve. Ad te clamamus exsules filii
Hevae. Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes in hac
lacrimarum valle. Eia, ergo, advocata nostra, illos
tuos misericordes oculos ad nos converte. Et Iesum,
benedictum fructum ventris tui, nobis post hoc
exsilium ostende. O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo
Maria. Amen.

V. Ora pro nobis, sancta Dei Genetrix.
R. Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi. Christ.

Oremus
Amen.

The Saint Michael Prayer

Latin/English

Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in proelio,
contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium. Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur:
tuque, Princeps militiae coelestis, Satanam aliosque
spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum
pervagantur in mundo, divina virtute, in infernum
detrude. Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be
our protection against the wickedness and snares
of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly
pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all
the other evil spirits, who wander throughout the
world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
